Clues and Answers Revealed!
Who are you most looking forward to seeing at the Playing with Fire Free Concert Series on August 25th?
Those of you following along with our social media posts and in previous PwFNewsletters may have seen all of our clues regarding who was performing at the PwF this year. Did you guess correctly?
PwF Artist Revealed: Matt Cox! Matt Cox is a six-time Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award winner for Best Country/Americana and Best Blues. His 6th album, High Places, was just released in April of 2018.
Artist Clue #2 for Aug. 25th concert: (We have a two-fer clue…two different band members)
This band member’s name is a precious gem but spelled differently. He was the bassist for Bruce Cockburn and k.d. lang.
He met Howlin Wolf when he was 11. Since then he has performed on 400 recordings, produced over 100 albums, and played lead guitar on tour with Bob Dylan. He has won 8 Juno Awards and been nominated for a Grammy. Although a Canadian he lives and works in Nashville.
PwF Artist Revealed: Blackie and the Rodeo Kings (B.A.R.K.) Johnny Dymond is the bassist & Colin Linden is one of the 3-frontman making up just part of B.A.R.K. that Rolling Stone magazine called “the singer-songwriter supergroup.”
Clue #3 for Aug. 25th Artist: In Canada, he is known as the Poet of the Blues. This prolific songwriter and harp player won a Juno Award for his last CD. Coca-Cola Classic made a commercial featuring one of his songs. He will headline PwF on August 25th.
PwF Artist Revealed: Paul Reddick!
Paul Reddick’s song, Not a Criminal, was used for a Coca-Cola commercial in 2014. Nominated for a Juno award in the category four previous times, Paul Reddick finally scored the Blues Album of the Year in 2017!
